About The Position

The Temporary Program Coordinator of Programming is responsible for the strategic oversight, planning, and administration of all camp programming and activities. This role exercises independent judgment and discretion in managing program operations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and operational standards. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing programming schedules, overseeing program staff such as drivers and social media counselors, and managing operational areas including the camp store, apparel, and program-related expenditures. The Temporary Program Coordinator also serves as a key liaison to support departments, including finance, accounting, compliance, human resources, and payroll, providing administrative guidance and coordination to ensure the smooth operation of Camp Loyaltown. This role emphasizes decision-making authority, supervisory oversight, and cross-departmental collaboration, rather than routine operational tasks. Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Qualified NYS Driver’s License and maintain a Qualified driver status throughout employment.
  • Physical Aspects may include but are not limited to lifting and transferring of an adult/child participant.

Responsibilities

  • Practice and promote the agency’s mission statement in every interaction.
  • Through family and community engagement, Citizens supports people to live the life they choose.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, agency policies, procedures, and training requirements.
  • Report to the Justice Center as a mandated reporter, notifying the Justice Center of any suspected abuse or neglect. Additionally, adhere to all agency incident management protocols.
  • Participate in program or agency committees to provide leadership and strategic input.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee the program schedule for the summer season, making high-level decisions to optimize staff and camper experience.
  • Manage financial oversight responsibilities, including reviewing petty cash disbursements and approving expenditures for camp operations.
  • Oversee the ordering of supplies and management of camp apparel, ensuring efficient operations and alignment with program budgets.
  • Plan and supervise all staff activities, including training, scheduling, and performance oversight.
  • Lead and participate in meetings with drivers, unit heads, and social media counselors, providing guidance and strategic direction.
  • Oversee seasonal opening and closing processes for camp, including inventory management and operational readiness, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
  • Participate in the opening and closing of camp at the beginning and end of each season. This includes inventory management, proper storage of supplies, and oversight of ordering necessary materials before and during the camp season.
  • Participant in daily administrative meetings during the camp season and weekly team meetings during the off season. Ensure support meetings with supervised staff are conducted at least monthly.
  • Act as a liaison between camp and the local community to increase community involvement and to resolve conflicts.
  • Provide high-level support and recommendations to the Assistant Director, Director, Senior Director, Associate Executive Director, and/or Executive Director, performing duties requiring discretion and independent judgment.
