About The Position

East Tennessee State University, Quillen College of Medicine (ETSU QCOM), Department of Medical Education, invites applications from community physicians who are retired or have availability and a passion for teaching. This part-time opportunity supports the education of medical students in pre-clinical and/or clinical settings.

Requirements

• MD or DO degree with active or prior clinical practice experience

Responsibilities

• Facilitate small-group or large-group teaching sessions within the pre-clinical or clinical curriculum
• Engage learners using active learning strategies and case-based instruction
• Provide clinical context and real-world application of foundational science concepts
• Participate in student assessment activities (e.g., formative feedback, OSCEs, or case discussions)
• Collaborate with course directors and faculty to align teaching with learning objectives
• Serve as a professional role model and mentor for medical students
