About The Position

Skilled customer service, clerical, and recordkeeping work for the Recreation and HYCC Divisions; responsible for overseeing the front office at HYCC; all other related work as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma including or supplemented by courses or training in reception and/or clerical duties
  • two years of responsible experience in reception and/or general office procedures
  • proficiency in software programs and learning/implementing new software programs as the town updates
  • Working knowledge of office procedures and machines
  • Knowledge of policies, procedures, rules, regulations and operations of the Recreation Division
  • Knowledge of office equipment operation
  • Familiarity with municipal government and pertinent state and local laws and by-laws
  • Ability to deal with the public tactfully and patiently
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the public, other town employees, and Department staff
  • Ability to organize and maintain accurate and detailed records
  • Ability to handle multiple and varied tasks
  • Ability to work and meet deadlines despite frequent interruptions
  • Good mathematical, organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency in the use of computers, including word processing, spreadsheet, and database data input
