The Teacher II/III position is responsible for enrolling children and providing quality early childhood education experiences for a diverse population of children aged 3-5 years. Under the direction of the Head Teacher or Center Director, the teacher will implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum, support families, and maintain compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and other regulations. The role includes maintaining positive relationships with families and coworkers, ensuring health and safety standards in the classroom, and providing individualized support for children, including those with special needs.

  • Enroll children and provide quality early childhood education experiences.
  • Implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum.
  • Support, guide, and lead assistants and volunteers.
  • Conduct development screenings and assessments.
  • Maintain organized written records and reports.
  • Facilitate parent engagement and participation.
  • Provide education to parents on child development.
  • Attend agency trainings and participate in professional development.
  • Act as a mentor to classroom support staff.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Associate Degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education or related field with 24 units of ECE for Level II.
  • One year of experience working for a child development, social services, or health-related agency for Level II.
  • Bachelor Degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education or related field with 24 units of ECE for Level III.
  • Two years of experience working in child development, social services, or health-related agency for Level III.
  • Ability to obtain Pediatric First Aid/CPR Certification within the first 60 days of work.
  • Possession of a valid California driver's license and current personal vehicle insurance.
  • Bilingual/biliterate in English/Spanish, English/Hmong, or English/Punjabi.
  • Knowledge of sound medical, dental, and nutritional practices for young children.
  • Awareness of community resources and services.
  • Full-time position with a salary range of $22.03 - $26.66 hourly.
