Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Master’s degree in library science from an American Library Association accredited school is preferred.
  • One year cataloging experience using OCLC bibliographic database.
  • One year experience working with the Dewey Decimal Classification System.
  • Knowledge of MARC records and experience using an integrated library system.

Responsibilities

  • Performs copy cataloging of library materials in all formats using OCL and the Polaris Integrated Library System (ILS).
  • Search OCLC for MARC records, locate and match records to items needing cataloging and edit records to conform to local standards.
  • May assist in local database management including deleting files and holdings, in both the library catalog and the OCLC database.
  • Process materials as necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
