The Rockwall County Library temporary part-time summer assistant will work 27 hours per week from mid-May through mid-August, assisting the Youth Services Department with the Summer Reading Club. The position will require working some Saturdays and evenings. DUTIES The primary responsibility of this position is supervising approximately 75 teen and adult volunteers who will be helping during the summer. Additional duties include clerical work, answering phones and emails, location materials for patrons and answering patron questions, assisting the librarians in preparing for programs, and shelving of books. Good communication and interpersonal service skills are required. Good computer skills are necessary and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is essential. QUALIFICATIONS The position requires a detail-oriented individual with the ability to work independently. A high school diploma or GED certificate is preferred. Candidates with library work or volunteer experience are preferred.
