The Legal Aid Society’s Civil Practice has Temporary Paralegal I positions available to support the Housing Justice Helpline and the Emergency Response (ERT) teams. The Temporary Helpline Paralegal 1 plays a key role in assisting both the Helpline and ERT by providing high-volume data entry, archiving, and case management support. When appropriate, the Paralegal may also make referrals to relevant external agencies. In this role, the Paralegal will perform a wide range of tasks essential to the efficient operation of the teams, including general administrative support. The position may also require occasional work at other Legal Aid Society offices or intake locations. This position is funded through a temporary grant, and the continuation of the position is dependent on funding availability. The position is funded for an initial period of 12 months, with the possibility of extension based on continued funding and project needs. If funding is not continued, the Temporary Paralegal I will be eligible to apply for other internal positions or be transferred into a comparable position.
