About The Position

Temporary vacancies exist in the Board of Elections. A list of eligible applicants will be established based on the examination as outlined below. Applicants must include the dates of the promotions and reclassifications. Requirements

  • Possession of a high school diploma or an appropriate high school equivalency
  • One year's general clerical experience
  • Additional experience as described in the essential duties may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education
  • Additional education may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required experience

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the hiring of election judges and schedule their training
  • Assists in proofreading processed batches of registration
  • Prioritizes data processing tasks to assure timely completion in accordance with office policies and procedures
  • Responsible for voter registrations applications
  • Assists with special projects including mass mailings, petitions, redistricting, verifications, voter education, canvass election, packing judge supplies and surveys
  • Maintains and secures files daily
  • Assists with the preparation and the conduct of elections to meet all deadlines
  • Operates office machinery, photocopiers, fax machines, and calculators
  • Updates and maintains filing systems, lists, log books and rosters
  • Answers routine inquiries from the public, or directs inquiries to proper agency

Benefits

  • Regular Schedule: 34 hours per week
  • Must be available to work 40 hours/week with some mandatory overtime on evenings and weekends during the Election year
