About The Position

The J.R. Simplot Company is a diverse, privately held global food and agriculture company headquartered in Boise, Idaho. We are a true farm-to-table company with an integrated portfolio including food processing and food brands, phosphate mining, fertilizer manufacturing, farming, ranching and cattle production, and other enterprises related to agriculture. SummaryThis job performs routine but varied clerical duties in accordance with standard procedures. This position will sit at the front gate of the mine and greet visitors, route deliveries and contractors, ensure that visitors follow appropriate log-in procedures, according to MSHA safety and security guidelines.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 2+ years related office experience preferred
  • Microsoft Office: Knowledge of and ability to use the features and functions in Microsoft Office Products.
  • Ability to work well alone and with others in a team oriented environment; must have the ability to interface effectively with others so that information is professionally communicated; excellent written communication skills
  • Good presentation skills and the ability to train others
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality; uses time effectively; attention to detail; well organized with ability to prioritize and be flexible
  • Excellent customer service skills; establishes and maintains trust, and respectful relationships with customers
  • Valid UT driver’s license, or ability to get one

Responsibilities

  • Answer phones, take messages, route calls courteously and professionally
  • Conduct MSHA training, vendor and contractor hazard training and other training, as assigned
  • Compile safety department and site-wide communications, information and other print and graphic material
  • Enter training and related data into various database software programs; create timely reports, file and maintain records
  • Understand and follow MSHA and Simplot record retention policies and procedures
  • Create, file, distribute, and maintain training material, including MSHA New Miner and Annual Refresher training materials
  • Assists with bulk mailings, event planning and implementation, and other duties as assigned
  • Monitor and enforce the Land Use Permits and ensure that employee’s comply with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Monitor attendance and completion of safety meeting tests and file
  • Follow up on check requests, send income checks for deposit & other invoice processing coding
  • Other administrative duties as assigned
  • Prompt and regular attendance and safe work performance – hours are 7:15 AM – 3:15 PM.
  • Infrequent travel and training may be required
  • Understand and comply with all company policies and procedures and government regulations
