About The Position
Are you interested in becoming a naturalist at the Prairie Park Nature Center? We are looking for an individual to work on weekends, specifically every other Saturday for an 8-hour shift and Sundays for a 3-hour shift. In this role, you will participate in various activities to help our center operate smoothly.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Possess a valid driver's license
- Must be certified in First Aid and CPR or be willing to obtain certification
- Successful candidates will need to pass a background check
Nice To Haves
- Completing two years of college coursework in biological or environmental science
- Having experience in animal handling
Responsibilities
- Caring for our ambassador animals
- Supporting environmental education programs for both children and adults
- Leading animal-themed birthday parties for groups
- Assisting with large events
- Helping design and maintain our indoor and outdoor displays, signage, and exhibits
- Keeping the center clean and organized
- Providing excellent customer service
