Voith Paper is hiring for: Temporary Logistics Specialist Appleton, WI Summary: The Logistics Expert ensures that goods are shipped in the most timely and efficient manner according to Voith standard processes. Duties include working with freight forwarders to select the mode of transportation; tracking shipments from pick up through delivery. The Logistic Expert communicates fulfillment status, coordinates logistics claims, and provides necessary information for customs clearance.

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, transportation, supply chain management or a related field preferred with 5 years of import / export experience.
  • Strong knowledge of North American Logistics market as well as international logistics experience.

Nice To Haves

  • SAP knowledge a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • To challenge, support and optimize North American logistics operations in line with Voith Paper Global Logistics Strategy; offering new ideas and solutions while challenging the status quo.
  • Generate and document import and export shipping processes such as planning transportation routes and payload, selecting the mode of transportation and tracking the shipment from pick up through delivery.
  • Communicate delivery status and / or issues within Supply Chain Management, Sales and Project Management. Coordinate delivery schedules and special needs with Project Managers.
  • Organize and maintain electronic documentation supporting order fulfilment, distribution means, pricing, and contractual obligations as well as customs documentation.
  • Review, send rebill request and approval of all freight invoicing.
  • Generate freight bill claims, provide the required documentation and tracks reconciliation.
  • Coordinate with GBS (Global Business Solutions), Order Managers, Project Managers, Buyers, Expediter regarding inbound shipments.
  • Adding the approved quotes to SAP System for future reference and review.
  • Provide HTS codes to customs brokers, update SAP system with proper import codes and request updated documents to assist in getting shipments properly cleared through customs.
  • Assist with creating shipping documents for project orders and direct deliveries.
  • Problem resolution with inbound shipment issues such as packaging, documentation and claims.
