NJP secures justice for people in or near poverty through high quality legal advocacy that promotes the long-term well-being of low-ie individuals, families, andmunities through legal representation,munity partnerships, education, and other advocacy. NJP's Eviction Prevention Unit seeks a full-time, experienced Legal Assistant based in Spokane to support our fast-paced eviction defense practice. This full-time position is authorized for six (6) months with the possibility of being extended or converted into a regular, full-time position. The Legal Assistant is part of the statewide Eviction Prevention Unit (EPU) and reports to the EPU Eastern Region Managing Attorney. The primary practice area is housing but may include family law, consumer, public benefits, and other areas of civil legal assistance that NJP provides.
