About The Position

The Temporary Learning Specialist at Brandeis University is responsible for providing course design and development support, as well as consultation in effective online and digital pedagogy to faculty subject matter experts. This part-time position, lasting approximately 13 weeks, involves advising on instructional design methods and coordinating project timelines and stakeholder communications.

Requirements

• Master's degree in instructional design, instructional technology, education, or related field.
• 3 to 5 years of experience working as an instructional designer, instructional technologist, or a similar role within a higher education setting.
• Experience supporting and managing online course design and development projects.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects both independently and in a collaborative environment.
• Commitment to developing an inclusive and supportive environment for diversity.

Responsibilities

• Provide learning design consultation, guidance, and support to faculty subject matter experts in the design and development of online courses.
• Consult on the development of course outcomes and objectives, faculty-created course materials, interactive courseware, multimedia elements, discussion prompts, and assessments.
• Curate external materials to support learning objectives, integrating best practices, technology, and industry expertise.
• Track course development project completion and establish timelines and milestones for deliverables.
• Ensure project milestones are met and manage internal and external resources.
