As a long-term temporary Laboratory Assistant at IDEXX, you will play a crucial role in supporting the operations of our network of Reference Labs. Each day, we receive thousands of clinical samples, including blood, urine, and fecal samples, from veterinary clinics. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the sorting, tagging, and preparation of these samples for testing. This vital work contributes significantly to helping veterinarians diagnose and treat pets, ensuring that beloved animals receive the care they need. Your efforts in moving samples efficiently through the testing process will directly impact the health and well-being of pets, making your role incredibly rewarding. In this position, you will be involved in various tasks, including receiving and sorting samples, applying labels, and delivering samples to different departments within the lab. You will also assist in restocking essential supplies, such as chemicals and slide trays, and may help load analyzers with slides of samples. Inventory counts will be part of your responsibilities, and your willingness to assist in multiple areas will be essential. Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) is critical to maintaining the quality and safety of our laboratory operations. The pay for this role is set at an hourly rate of $19.50, and the work schedule is from Tuesday to Saturday, 7:30 AM to 4 PM CST. This is a long-term temporary position, expected to last for over six months, with a commitment of 40 hours per week. During peak seasons, there may be opportunities for overtime, and flexibility in your schedule will be necessary to meet business needs. Reliable attendance is a key requirement for this role, as your presence is vital to the lab's operations.
