As a member of Dr. Margaret Frank’s lab, you will assist lab members in data collection and execution of experiments designed to investigate the genetics and genomics of plant grafting. You will provide routine to moderately complex technical lab support for a research program/facility. Other duties include: Preparing standard stains, media, buffers, and reagents. Recording experimental data, analyzing, and sharing results through preliminary reports to lab members. Performing routine lab procedures, including DNA extraction, gel electrophoresis, and sequencing preparation, using established protocols. Preparing and maintaining standard tissue and cell culture for experimentation. Analyzing data using straightforward statistical methods and computer software. Complete training on lab safety and proper handling of chemicals as required by CALS Environment, Health, and Safety.
