Temporary Intake Coordinator
About The Position
We are hiring in New York City! Join us at Single Stop for an exciting career as an Intake Coordinator. The Intake Coordinator is an integral part of our tax team. They are the first people clients meet and speak with when entering the tax site. The Intake is responsible for ensuring a calm and positive environment while our clients wait to have their taxes prepared. Mission: To build pathways out of poverty by leveraging partnerships and technology to connect people to existing resources, all through a unique one-stop shop. Fueled by state-of-the-art technology, a world-class staff, and our education and nonprofit network partners, Single Stop’s vision is for every individual to have access to opportunities for achieving the American Dream. We are working to connect the 46 million individuals living in poverty to untapped local, state, and federal dollars and benefits to put them on the road to economic stability and prosperity. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience.
- Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in the tax preparation field and strong knowledge of personal income taxes, as well as tax law knowledge.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, and self-motivation.
- Good attention to detail with excellent follow-up skills.
- Must be able to balance competing priorities and work on multiple tasks, often on a time-sensitive basis.
- Must be IRS-certified Volunteer Standard of Conduct, Intake and Quality Review Process. (Single Stop will assist in providing a guide on certification)
- Excellent customer service skills.
- The Intake Coordinator must be friendly, patient, and professional, able to manage a busy workplace with high client volume.
- Ability to multitask in a busy environment.
- Attention to detail with an emphasis on accuracy is important.
- Must be responsible, punctual, and reliable.
- Computer knowledge is needed for making appointments and entering surveys.
Nice To Haves
- Management and/or supervisory experience is a plus.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English)is a definite plus.
