About the position
The Temporary Full-Time Custodian position at James Monroe High School involves maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the school buildings and grounds. The custodian will operate heating or cooling systems, make minor repairs, and develop a daily work schedule in collaboration with the principal. Responsibilities include addressing odors, particularly in restrooms, implementing preventative maintenance schedules, and maintaining a log of problem areas. The custodian will also manage supply inventory to ensure a minimum two-week supply is available and perform any other job-related duties as assigned by the school principal and superintendent.
Responsibilities
- Keep buildings and grounds clean and free of refuse/debris
- Operate heating or cooling system
- Make minor repairs
- Develop and implement a daily work schedule with the principal
- Address odors, particularly in the restrooms
- Develop and implement a schedule of preventative maintenance for buildings and equipment
- Submit a written daily log of problem areas within the building or on the grounds
- Maintain record of supplies and order sufficient amount
- Maintain positive work habits
- Perform duties efficiently and productively
- Maintain and/or upgrade skills
- Perform any and all other job related duties as assigned by the school principal and superintendent
Requirements
- High school graduate or GED equivalent
- Must have passed state custodial test
