About The Position

Kutztown University of Pennsylvania enrolls approximately 7,500 students across its graduate and undergraduate programs. Located in a charming rural setting in Kutztown, Pennsylvania, the University is just a 20-minute drive from the metropolitan areas of Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and about an hour from the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The University seeks to hire employees with experience working with diverse populations. The Department of Art & Design at Kutztown University invites applications for temporary full and/or part-time positions for Spring 2026 in Photography. Courses requiring coverage include (but are not limited to): undergraduate courses in photography, including Intro to Digital Photo, Intro to Darkroom Photo, and upper-level Photo Studio. We seek applicants committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive community of faculty, staff, and students in the Department of Art & Design and across the university. In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, performance review and evaluation of faculty is based on effective teaching and fulfillment of professional responsibilities; continuing scholarly growth and professional development; and service. Courses are taught face-to-face for Spring 2026.

Requirements

Earned Master's degree (MFA or MA) in Photography, Art, or related discipline required at time of application
Strong professional portfolio of personal artwork
Strong professional portfolio of student artwork
College-level teaching experience of at least one year or equivalent in related coursework to be taught
Experience managing darkroom and/or digital facilities
For introductory digital photo and upper-level studio classes, proficiency in related digital software (including but not limited to Photoshop and Lightroom) is required.
