About The Position

College of Continuing and Professional Education at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH), invites highly qualified, motivated, and well-organized applicants for a pool of part-time teaching appointments for the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program. The EMT temporary faculty pool is continuously open, and positions are filled as needed, based on student enrollment and funding. Candidates may need to be available to begin teaching on short notice.

Requirements

• A Bachelor degree and two years of professional experience as a Paramedic OR an Associate degree and six years of professional experience as a Paramedic.
• A strong 'generalist background' and teaching experience in the EMT field.
• Experience in developing curriculum, revising curriculum, assessing student learning outcomes and participating in program review.
• Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience at the college or university level and who can furnish evidence of strong teaching practices.
• Applicants must have experience in teaching students from diverse ages, socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds.
• Instructor for American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
• 40 hours of instructional methodology training (i.e. Firefighter 1a and 1b).

Responsibilities

• Serve as an EMT instructor and teach assigned courses in the College of Continuing and Professional Education's portfolio of the noncredit extension EMT program.
