About The Position
The Facility Operations Assistant 1 Grounds position involves performing a variety of routine manual tasks that require medium to heavy physical effort. Responsibilities include snow removal and clearing of campus roads, walking paths, and stairwells using equipment such as plows, snow blowers, and hand shovels. The role also includes maintenance of landscaped areas, which involves planting, watering, weeding, mulching, mowing, trimming, and pruning. Additional landscape work includes rejuvenation of existing landscape beds and the creation of new landscape beds and plantings. Other responsibilities may include moving furniture and equipment, maintaining trash and recycling, assisting with grounds maintenance, special event setups and tear downs, and other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.
