About The Position

The Temporary Facilities Laborer is responsible for the commercial building site, focusing on cleaning, maintenance, and process support to ensure a suitable and clean working environment. This is an on-site role located in Menlo, IA. Key duties include general landscaping, internal and external building cleaning, operating facilities equipment, supporting general facility projects and repairs, and operating POET fleet vehicles. The role also emphasizes fostering a culture of safe behavior, environmental compliance, maintaining a team environment, and advancing food safety and quality.

Requirements

  • Pursuing or completion of a high school diploma or equivalent education
  • General safety awareness and willingness to take direction on task completion
  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently on various projects
  • Knowledge of the basics of Microsoft Office Suite and the ability of learning new programs

Responsibilities

  • General landscaping and lawn care: watering, mowing and weed maintenance, trimming and replacing shrubs, applying lawn fertilizers, etc.
  • Internal and external building cleaning and maintenance; glass window cleaning, painting of hand rails, equipment or guards, light bulb replacement, general area clean up, etc.
  • Access to and usage of facilities equipment to complete work throughout this campus.
  • Support of general facility projects and repairs; picking up parts, assisting with equipment repair, cleaning equipment components, shadow various technician roles
  • Operating POET fleet vehicles for maintenance service and cleanup
  • Foster a culture of safe behavior and environmental compliance at all times.
  • Maintain a team environment at all times and champion POET in the community
  • Maintain and advance the food safety and quality of POET’s products and processes to deliver a best-in-class culture of quality.
