About The Position

San Diego County Fire is seeking a Temporary Expert Professional (TEP), with extensive experience in the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) field, to be the Program Manager for the San Diego County EMS Corps Program. San Diego County EMS Corps is an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) job training program for Transitional Age Youth (TAY), from traditionally underserved communities, including many who have been impacted by the child welfare and juvenile justice systems. TAY in the context of this program is defined as young people between the ages of 18-26, some of whom may experience challenges on their path to adulthood. The first EMS-Corps program was established 14 years ago in Alameda County, California and has proven to provide an opportunity for young adults to become competent and successful health care professionals. San Diego County's approach is modeled after Alameda County's EMS Corps program.
