About The Position

The Skirball Cultural Center seeks a capable, conscientious Event Coordinator for its Hospitality and Private Events Department. Reporting to the Director of Hospitality and Private Events, the Events Coordinator will be responsible for client relations, administrative and financial management of accounts, and full operational knowledge and use of the Ungerboeck event management software system.
Contract Length: 6 Months
Rate: $23-25 per hour

Requirements

• Previous experience within social, corporate, or nonprofit event sales and planning
• Intermediate computer skills to include Word, Excel, and event planning software
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently, as a team player, and cross-functionally with all other departments
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

Nice To Haves

• previous experience with Ungerboeck
• proficient in Momentus and/or competent in Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate special events following the Skirball’s policies and practices of event management
• Utilize sales and public relations skills to present Skirball products and services to develop new client base while maintaining long-term accounts
• Create and update event orders, which serve as the blueprint for all responsible contributing internal departments and contracted services
• Identify concerns and problem-solve within the established guidelines
• Create and monitor client contracts, including budgets and outside services contracted through the Skirball
• Facilitate and manage changing client needs, paying attention to detail and communicating changes to all impacted internal departments
• Assess the entire scope of an event and identify all details necessary for its success
• Perform all duties in accordance with the Skirball’s mission and vision
