About The Position

CAPI is seeking a dynamic and proactive Temporary Employment Services Manager. This position is temporary lasting through the end of September, with the possibility of becoming a permanent role. This position is critical in driving employment placement efforts across CAPI's workforce programs. The primary focus will be increasing quality job placements for program participants by coordinating efforts, building employer relationships, and ensuring participants receive the wraparound support needed to obtain and retain stable employment. The Employment Services Manager oversee job placement activities, employer engagement, and supervise staff within various programs, including the DHS Refugee Programs Office Employment and Career Supports program, the City of Minneapolis Works program, and AmeriCorps CTEP Member services.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of two years in supervisory or program management roles.
  • Experience in workforce development, job placement, or employment services is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to build employer and community partner relationships
  • Supervise a multicultural team
  • Solve problems effectively
  • Experience in program implementation and outcome monitoring is essential.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Effective time management
  • Proficiency in MS Office and program databases
  • Valid MN Driver's License with access to reliable transportation are required.

Responsibilities

  • Program Oversight and Employment Placement: Lead employment placement efforts across programs, focusing on achieving quality job placements for program participants. Collaborate with career navigators and employment staff to coordinate placements, build employer relationships, and ensure participants receive support services. Monitor program performance, address employment barriers, and ensure accurate documentation and reporting to meet targets.
  • Fiscal Oversight: Manage an annual program budget and closely monitor all funded programs, government contracts, and foundation grants. Participate in audits and negotiate agreements to enhance CAPI's financial position.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: Support Employment Services staff through performance management, training, and professional development. Lead hiring and onboarding processes, foster positive employee relations, and ensure a safe and inclusive work environment. Address employee concerns, managing separations, and handling administrative tasks such as approving timecards, leave requests, and personnel changes
  • Civic Engagement: Support agency-wide civic engagement and public policy initiatives by incorporating them into routine case management work and participating in voter registration, educational/outreach initiatives, and public policy activities.
