About The Position

Springfield Public Schools seeks outstanding candidates for the position of Temporary Learning Specialist teacher at the Elementary (K-5) level. Requirements

Knowledge and experience with elementary-aged students
Strong understanding of multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) for academics and social/emotional/behavior
Knowledge and experience working in a school or district that implements the concepts of Response to Instruction & Intervention (RtI)
Knowledge of school-wide Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS)
Demonstrated understanding of, and responsiveness to, the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds that characterize a K-12 school community in a manner specific to the position
Strong student relationship building skills and the ability to establish a sound system of classroom routines and management
Establishes effective, collaborative working relationships with diverse staff, student and community populations
Knowledge and experience with providing individualized, precise instruction for diverse learners that supports the implementation of the core curriculum
Ability to effectively manage and supervise students and their work
A valid state of Oregon teaching license, or the ability to get one, with a Special Education: Generalist endorsement
Successfully pass fingerprinting, criminal, Oregon Department of Education, and TSPC background checks
