About The Position
We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Temporary Dental Assistant to join a busy, patient-focused dental clinic team in Ames, Iowa. This role will support clinical operations and provide excellent care to patients during a temporary coverage period. The ideal candidate is organized, professional, and comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant preferred
- Iowa Dental Assistant registration/certification (required, if applicable)
- X-ray certification (preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently
- Professional, dependable, and patient-focused attitude
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments
- Take and process dental X-rays (as certified)
- Provide chairside support and patient education
- Maintain accurate patient records
- Ensure compliance with safety and infection control standards
- Help manage patient flow and clinic efficiency
