About The Position

POSITION NOTE: This position is being offered at a TEMPORARY assignment at Nordstrom. The expected duration of this temporary assignment is apx. 4 - 6 months (from the commencement date through July/August, 2026), subject to change based on the needs of the business. The position will end at the conclusion of the assignment. WORK LOCATION: This position is located at Nordstrom's downtown Seattle headquarters and follows a hybrid work model, with four days in the office and one remote workday each week. The primary focus of this TEMPORARY job includes driving, conceptualizing and delivering an omnichannel product storytelling and trend vision for Nordstrom Product Group (NPG). You'll partner with cross functional leaders and product design to drive and thread key product strategies from the start into creative concepts for customer facing channels and bring customer insights, product stories and seasonal trends to life in a clear and compelling way. Requirements

  • Strong design and conceptual skills.
  • Strong knowledge of textiles, artwork techniques & fabric.
  • Proficient in Illustrator and capable in Microsoft, Photoshop, InDesign, Miro, etc.
  • Positive and passionate with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Desire to work in a collaborative environment and build strong relationships with business partners & team mates.
  • Ability manage and help develop skills of direct reports.
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • College degree in Fashion Design, Textiles or a related field.
  • 7+ years similar experience

Responsibilities

  • Participates in establishing cross category seasonal concept direction.
  • Concepts the development of their category report and drives consistency and clarity to the broader concept team.
  • Oversees development of concept reports to ensure accuracy and innovation.
  • Represents concepts in meetings and influences cross functional partners on concept, color, and print direction.
  • Partners with Merchants + Design to prioritize trends and share creative ideas.
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvement
  • Researches and stays abreast of trends, newness, and innovation through travel, participation in events, and leveraging networks.
  • Consistently drive the strategy behind multiple projects and timelines concurrently throughout each season
  • Actively pursue details about the marketplace, current fashion & retail trends within our competitive landscape and the broader fashion landscape, acting on this information to drive product relevance
  • Provides leadership by exhibiting influence and expertise, thus affecting the results of the operating area
  • Develops staff through coaching, providing performance feedback, providing effective performance assessments and establishing performance and development plans
  • Creates an effective work environment by developing a common vision, setting clear objectives, expecting teamwork, recognizing outstanding performance and maintaining open communications.
  • Owns partnership with CFT's and oversees catering content to meet their needs.
