About The Position

The Client Interpreter position at MFS Cash Oregon is a temporary role that will last from January 14, 2026, to April 30, 2026. The position requires providing interpretation services in Spanish for client reception and supporting volunteer tax preparers. The working hours will vary between 16 to 30 hours per week, with specific availability required on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and weekends. This role does not offer benefits.

Requirements

• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking in English and Spanish.
• Experience providing interpretation services.
• Excellent customer service skills and experience working with diverse populations.
• Ability to manage and maintain confidential and sensitive information.
• Experience working effectively within a team-dependent environment.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and responsibilities.
• Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work all scheduled hours and maintain availability through the duration of the assignment.
• Competency in using a personal computer and the internet, including Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct interpretation services for Spanish speaking clients.
• Assist with the client screening and intake process to ensure clients understand and are eligible for tax preparation support.
• Help clients complete required documents and intake information.
• Support volunteer tax preparers to ensure information is understood by clients who prefer Spanish.
• Provide resources and referrals to related services and appropriate Spanish language literature.
• Perform data entry support as directed.
• Assist with other tasks as needed at the site.
• Staff and support other tax sites when needed.
