PURPOSE OF POSITION: To assist prosecutors with criminal and civil legal work. WORK PERFORMED/JOB FUNCTIONS: Under the supervision of the County Attorney, this position will assist prosecutors on specific cases, appear in court, and perform legal research and writing. Performs other duties as assigned. MINIMUM TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, OR CERTIFICATIONS: Must be eligible to practice law in Minnesota under the Supervised Practice Rules. Must have an interest in criminal law and procedure. Must be punctual, organized, and detail-oriented. The selected candidate will be certified to practice as a certified student attorney while employed by Cass County. Offers of employment are contingent upon a Criminal Background check and reference check. PHYSICAL EFFORT: Sedentary to light physical activities requiring stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, talking, hearing, and close vision. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds typically, in an office environment. HOURLY RANGE: $23.11 not to exceed 640 hours.
