About The Position

The HR Onboarding & Workforce Specialist is responsible for coordinating and delivering compliant, efficient onboarding for union and non-union employees across contract sites. This position supports site readiness, compliance with federal requirements, and rapid integration of cleared and uncleared employees into contract roles. This will be a six-month contract for project-specific work, with the potential for extension based on project needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • Three (3) years of experience in Onboarding, HR Recruiting or related HR support role.
  • One (1) year of experience HCM experience, UKG preferred.
  • Knowledge of contracting HR practices (e.g., E-Verify, FAR/DFARS, Service Contract Act)
  • Knowledge of union vs. non-union onboarding
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 60%, including overnight stays
  • Preferred Spanish Bilingual

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate in-person onboarding at our contract sites.
  • Ensure all new hire employees receive and complete onboarding process by entering, validating, and updating employee onboarding data in the HCM tool.
  • Act as an HR liaison to site supervisors and operational leadership during onboarding ramp-up and their onboarding cycle.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state and site onboarding requirements (e.g., E-Verify, I-9, OFCCP, FAR/DFARS onboarding documentation)
  • Ensure employees are processed through background check and drug screening.
  • Collaborate with security and site teams to support onboarding of cleared personnel (e.g., tracking interim clearances, SF-86 progress) to ensure receiving badge and applicable equipment.
  • Maintain audit-ready onboarding files and support internal or external audits (e.g., DCAA, DCMA, DOL)
  • Confirm correct assignment of job codes, clearance requirements, union status, pay rates, and onboarding tasks
  • Monitor onboarding task completion and update HRIS records as new hires progress through the onboarding cycle.
  • Coordinate with other stakeholders to ensure compliance with CBA terms, pay structure, and union onboarding obligations.
  • Create and deliver demos or presentation for onboarding, including Day 1 orientation.
  • Assist with developing standard operating procedures and documentation workflow.
