About The Position

The Integrated Teaching and Learning Program (ITLP) within the College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS) at CU Boulder is seeking an Assistant Wood & Metal Shop Manager to support the day-to-day operation of the ITLP's Manufacturing Center from June 30, 2025 through February 20, 2026. The Manufacturing Center is a student-focused space for prototyping and hands-on engineering projects. In this role, you will mentor and guide engineering students in the safe use of woodworking and metalworking tools. While you will support all areas of fabrication, we are especially looking for someone with strong woodworking experience. You will oversee equipment maintenance and operation, lead safety and technical trainings, supervise student employees, and contribute to a welcoming and educational shop environment. This is a hands-on, high-impact position that blends technical expertise, instruction, and safety oversight. It is well suited for someone with fabrication experience who enjoys working directly with students and supporting their growth as engineers.
