About The Position

East Stroudsburg University is hiring a Temporary Assistant Athletic Trainer! Located in the beautiful Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, ESU’s proximity to New York City and Philadelphia provides convenient access to internships, careers and social activities. Just minutes from campus are the country’s largest water parks, scenic Delaware Water Gap Recreation Area, Appalachian Trail, and other opportunities for recreational fun. As the Temporary Assistant Athletic Trainer, you will need to think creatively and be comfortable delivering comprehensive health care to intercollegiate student athletes. You will be an active member of the Athletics team and will work closely with the Director to ensure effective operation of athletics training facilities. You will thrive in this role if you like combining your sports medicine background and interpersonal skills connecting with students to support their physical and emotional recovery all while collaborating with team physicians to optimize student injury & recovery efforts. To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate strong time management skills, proactively communicate, and skillfully collaborate with coaches, faculty, & medical professionals. Your schedule will be 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday. You may have to flex your schedule from time to time based on the needs of the business to be a true Temporary Assistant Athletic Trainer. Requirements

  • Minimum master’s degree in athletic training, Sports Medicine or related field is required.
  • NATA Certification and PA State License.
  • Capable of maintaining composure and sound judgment in high-pressure or emergency situations.
  • Able to read, write, and comprehend English; able to follow verbal instructions.
  • Experience with Word, Excel, Teams required.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with NCAA or PSAC compliance software/tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Athletic Trainers with the coordination of health care services for all the intercollegiate student athletes.
  • Provide comprehensive care for student-athletes through various methods and apply therapeutic modalities.
  • Maintenance of accurate records of all injuries and treatments performed.
  • Collaborate with the Athletic Training Education Department faculty to manage and maintain the athletic training facility and equipment, and to coordinate its availability for both academic and athletic use.
  • Collaborate effectively with fellow athletic trainers to ensure consistent, high-quality care and coverage for all student athletes.
