Temporary Accounting Specialist
About The Position
Singleton Schreiber is seeking an organized, detail-oriented Settlement Accounting Specialist to support the accounting team. This role is responsible for managing client settlement payments and maintaining accurate financial records. The accountant plays a critical role in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing of financial transactions. This position will be a 10+ week full-time temporary position. Target start date: 04/29/2026 Salary: $27.00-$31.00 per hour Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualifications for the role. The Settlement Accounting Specialist supports firm financial operations by managing settlement-related accounting processes, coordinating with internal teams, and maintaining accurate and compliant accounting records.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and QuickBooks.
- 1+ years of general accounting experience or degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Studies, or Economics.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent administrative, written, and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Positive and enthusiastic team playe
- Full-time, in-office availability.

Responsibilities
- Exceptional data entry skills with a focus on verifying payment instructions
- Processing client settlement payments
- Reviewing Client Settlement Distribution Agreements
- Conducting audits of payments made and attorney fee splits
- Assisting the Settlement Accounting team as needed
- Filing and maintaining accounting documents
- Handling internal and external inquiries concerning client’s payment
- Performing additional duties needed to support the accounting department
