The Operations Manager oversees the daily operations of emergency medical services (ground and flight divisions) ensuring efficient operational readiness, compliance with regulations and maintains high standards of patient care. The role blends administrative leadership with field readiness and operations, requiring both strategic planning and hands-on coordination. Plans and coordinates the delivery of patient care and employee services with those of the Medical and administrative team members. Responsible for analysis and review of financial performance, preparation and review of budget, creation, maintenance, and analysis of statistical data pertaining to all aspects of program to include, transport volume and revenue, budget variances, accounts payable, purchased hours, etc. Oversight of internal billing process to include serving as liaison with and compliance of program to include HIPPA training/enforcement, billing, and policies and procedures. Works in concert with Health system finance teams to ensure a collaborative approach to reporting, data collection key op metrics. Participates as a member of the T3 management team with respect to planning, policy formulation, and administrative decision making.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in EMS, Healthcare Administration or related field Required
  • 5 years experience in Emergency Medical Services (EMS), including 911 and transport experience Required
  • Demonstrated understanding of EMS operations and transport (ground and/or air) considerations and previous EMS industry experiences specific to operating within the construct of an urban academic medical center Required
  • Paramedic Certification Required
  • Basic Life Support Required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Required
  • Advanced Pediatric Life Suport Required or Pediatric Adv. Life Support Required
  • EMS Vehicle Operator Required
  • Drivers License Required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare related field Preferred
  • 2 years of EMS supervisory or management experience Preferred
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program Preferred
  • Cert Flight Paramedic Preferred or Critical Care Paramedic Cert Preferred
  • Natl Reg. Emergency Med Techs Preferred
