About The Position

The position ensures that temple ordinances are kept pure, recorded accurately, and made available to worthy Church members. It involves providing an environment where patrons may have a positive and uplifting experience each time they come to the temple. The role includes maintaining and operating temples at standards established by the First Presidency, assisting in the entire operation and maintenance of the temple's physical facilities, and operating, maintaining, and repairing mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems and equipment as assigned by the Temple Facility Manager.

Requirements

  • Completion of 2 years of technical training in a skilled trade.
  • 4 years of experience in a skilled trade.
  • 2 years of experience in physical plant operation including skilled trades such as electrical, electronics, plumbing, welding, carpentry, painting, general construction, blueprint reading, mechanics, and floor coverings.
  • Shop organization and inventory management skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Licenses as required by law.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a positive and uplifting experience for temple patrons.
  • Maintain and operate temples according to standards set by the First Presidency.
  • Assist in the operation and maintenance of temple physical facilities.
  • Operate, maintain, and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems and equipment.
  • Ensure all computerized heating and air conditioning equipment operates at maximum efficiency.
  • Service complex water treating equipment for boilers and culinary water systems.
  • Conduct water treatment tests to maintain proper pH, hardness levels, and conductivity.
  • Service and repair laundry equipment and kitchen systems.
  • Maintain baptismal font filtering and water purification systems.
  • Maintain electrical systems including high voltage three-phase wiring and lighting systems.
  • Clean, maintain, and repair electronic systems including the Temple Recording System.
  • Participate in the preparation of yearly facilities budget process and time-card submission.
