We are seeking a Tempering Oven / Production Associate for our Thermoseal, Irving, Texas location.
Requirements
- Reliability
- Ability to pass physical and aptitude tests, involving basic math, fractions, tape measure literate and reading comprehension.
- Willing to work overtime, weekends & holidays if required
- Solid work history that can be verified (5 consistent years’ operating a tempering furnace)
- Maintain and wear all required personal protective equipment
- Attend all safety meetings
Nice To Haves
- Prior manufacturing/production, forklift/overhead crane experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Follow process work-instructions
- Read/measure glass accurately with tape measure
- Check glass quality and be able to identify basic glass defects
- Place glass into bungees racks and metal A-frames per customer required specifications
- Based on reject criteria, ability to reject glass and unload, bungees racks and metal A-frames
- Properly make recipe changes and convection adjustments to tempering furnace when needed
- Must be able to properly operate tempering furnace without causing quality issues
- Read and fill out proper documentation (hard copies & electronically)
- Should be capable to properly perform quality tests
- Communicate with the Q.C. and shift lead regarding quality or breakage issues
- Never allow the line to get backed up with glass or miss tempering cycles
- Must possess a high sense of urgency
- Help unload/packers & labeling when able depending on glass production requirements
- Help with all preventative maintenance requirements of tempering furnace
