Within established guidelines, performs various functions associated with the fabrication of contact lenses using appropriate machines and equipment. These operations are of a repetitive nature and require training within the scope of an approved SOP. Works in a team manufacturing environment receiving direction from the Production Coordinators and/or Technicians. Demonstrates qualities which show an interest and competency level for future advancement. This position allows the employee to become familiar with the advanced, quality critical stages of manufacturing contact lenses. Responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and organization of work areas and application of continuous improvement methods. Operates specialized equipment necessary for specific product groups (e.g., automated lathing/injection molding and metrology equipment) Independently operates a wide range of automated equipment and is able to meet production goals. Strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's). Performs multiple job functions within the business and willingly flexes to other production areas as business needs dictate. Contribute to lean/Six Sigma projects as required. When required, assists coordinator and/or technicians in managing workflow. Demonstrates the capacity and desire to participate on and lead teams. As business needs dictate, works extended hours to complete daily department goals or tasks to include mandatory overtime. Performs other duties as needed/assigned.
