About The Position

This position is for the UNM-Gallup Branch, located in Gallup, NM, approximately 138 miles west of Albuquerque, NM. The University of New Mexico's Gallup Branch, Liberal Arts & Education Division, anticipates hiring adjunct faculty to teach face-to-face and/or online lower division courses (1000-2000 level) during the Spring, Summer and Fall 2026 semesters in various areas including Architecture, Fine Arts, and Art History. The instructors will be responsible for all aspects of the classes they teach, including content delivery, assignment development, grading, and assessment of student learning. Positions are contingent upon need each semester based on student enrollment levels and course offerings. The salary range for adjunct faculty is $1,135.26 - $1,228.24 per credit hour.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or Master of Fine Arts degree in Architecture, Art History, any Art Studio discipline, Dance, Electronic Arts, Latin American/Chicanx Studies, Music, Music Production, Film, Theatre, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Teach face-to-face and/or online lower division courses during the Spring, Summer, and Fall semesters.
  • Meet face-to-face with the class during assigned times, which may include evenings or weekends.
  • Deliver course content and develop assignments.
  • Grade assignments and report grades.
  • Assess student learning as outlined by the division chair.
