About The Position

Temp Capable of working 12-hour shifts on a 7-day rotating schedule (Days and Nights) Capable of lifting 50 pounds and climbing stairs. Flexible to work across multiple units for packaging and process support needs. Follow chain of command communicating to shift technicians, process specialist, and supervisor for effected area. Follow/exercise stop work authority per Lanxess policy. See something that is not safe, say something. Follow Severe Weather Policy in the unit. Responsible for understanding PPE Matrix and following PPE requirements. Responsible for daily forklift inspections on each shift. Responsible for maintaining good housekeeping in the unit (including areas outside area of responsibility). Responsible for check-weighing, stretch wrap, and documentation of product. Responsible for using/executing Safe Work Permits including pre- and post- walkthroughs and JSA’s while performing work. Responsible for elevating needed Work Order notifications for maintenance and/or E&I to lead operator for Lanxess including process specialist when applicable. Responsible for loading/un-loading raw materials. Responsible for maintaining records in the logbook and process packaging sheets. Responsible for maintaining and reporting inventory of raw materials. Responsible for inspecting hoist and/or packaging machine for wear and tear (safety issues) before and during every lift or use. Assist Lock-Out/Tag-Out on electrical and mechanical equipment to have knowledge of work that is being performed in area. Assist with record and log data needed for inspections, shift reports, and PMs in the unit. Assist with any issues and needs in area. Effectively communicate process, quality, and safety issues to process specialist. Demonstrate working knowledge of packaging tasks. Review and follow SOPs, JSAs, and HECP Plan as necessary. Expected to troubleshoot process and equipment issues and address them to prevent HSEQ and reliability problems. Expected to understand the program and control logics setup for packaging equipment.
