About The Position

Washington Health Medical Group (WHMG) is a multi-specialty medical group that is part of Washington Hospital Healthcare System in Fremont, California. The Patient Care Coordinator is a Medical Assistant responsible for all back office preparation for patient care, strictly following all practice policies and procedures, including HIPAA regulations. The role emphasizes a patient-first ethic and aims to ensure an excellent patient experience through effective partnerships with patients.

Requirements

• High School graduate or GED required.
• Training in an accredited program for medical assisting required, certification preferred.
• BLS/CPR certified.

Responsibilities

• Performs selected patient care duties, including collection and management of patient clinical information.
• Rooms patients after paperwork is complete and documents chief complaint in patient's chart.
• Double checks patient charts to ensure all necessary information is included before alerting the physician.
• Prepares exam rooms with necessary equipment and supplies.
• Orders and maintains clinical and office supplies as required.
• Advises patients of test results and processes labs collected in the office.
• Gives injections as ordered by physicians.
• Calls patients to remind them of upcoming appointments and necessary imaging studies.
• Assists in Medical Records with scanning and filing.
• Performs related tasks/assignments as necessary.

Benefits

• Full-time position with a salary range of $29.00-$36.00 per hour.
