The Tech Temp will use various characterization tools to study graphene and graphene heterostructures, in support of the general research effort in the epigraphene lab in the School of Physics: morphology (atomic force microscopy, scanning electron microscopy), structure (X-ray diffraction) and chemical composition (electron diffraction spectroscopy, x-ray photoemission spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy). The research team includes Regent Professor Walt de Heer, Professor of the Practice Claire Berger, 3 graduate students, 1 postdoc and 4 undergrad research assistants. The epigraphene lab is equipped with growth furnaces, graphene characterization tools, as well as device fabrication and measurements.
