About The Position

The Facility Operations Assistant 1 (Utilities) position is a temporary role located within the Facilities department. The job involves performing a variety of routine unskilled and semiskilled manual tasks related to heating and air-conditioning plants or in the mechanical equipment rooms of University-owned buildings. The position requires physical labor and the ability to follow written or oral instructions. The working hours are between 20 to 25 hours per week, and the salary ranges from $17.50 to $18.50 per hour.

Requirements

• Physically able to perform medium to heavy physical labor.
• Ability to understand and carry out written or oral instructions.
• Qualified to use negative pressure respirators.
• Valid NYS driver's license required.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work from heights, both on platforms and ladders up to 20 feet, and navigate stairs throughout the duration of the shift.
