Loso House, San Francisco Named after longtime Progress supporter and San Francisco public health advocate Dorine Loso, this transitional residential program was established in 2007. Like Clay and Parker Hill, its program is designed primarily for clients returning from often long stays locked in institutions or other long term care settings. The programs offers comprehensive in-house day treatment programs for the residents of the program. The maximum length of stay for the Haight-Ashbury program is one year. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the supervision of the Program Director or the Assistant Director, Counselors provide support and assistance to clients of this unique long term adult psychiatric residential treatment program. The Counselors advocate for and respond to clients' treatment and rehabilitation needs. Specific functions are outlined in the job description. Generally, Counselor duties include: Promote the philosophy of social rehabilitation as it applies to residential treatment; performance of intake interviews; group, individual, and family counseling; treatment plan development and implementation; coordination of activities; discharge planning; and developing and maintaining contact with clients' therapists and related treatment programs. Maintain computer requirements of the City and County of San Francisco Community Behavioral Health Services. In addition, the counselor is required to maintain clinical records and to perform minor household repair and cleaning tasks. Candidates must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including some weekend and overnight shifts.
