About The Position
The TeleSitter Observer plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of patients through continuous observation and surveillance. This position requires the observer to maintain visual contact with assigned patients at all times, utilizing the AvaSys Telesitter Software to monitor patient behavior and intervene when necessary. The primary responsibility is to verbally redirect patients from engaging in at-risk behaviors and to summon nursing staff when assistance is required. The observer must demonstrate a strong understanding of patient confidentiality and adhere to hospital policies while providing support to patients. In addition to monitoring, the TeleSitter Observer is responsible for participating in the hand-off of information regarding patient behavior at the beginning and end of each shift. This includes documenting patient activity every hour and maintaining records of service calls to AvaSys when monitors are not functioning. The observer must be able to communicate effectively with patients using a digital two-way device, providing explanations as needed without offering counseling or options. Safety is paramount, and the observer must demonstrate safe work practices and follow all safety rules. This position is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, able to multitask efficiently, and possess strong communication skills. Previous experience in direct patient care is preferred, and candidates must have a high school diploma or GED. The role is part-time, offering a flexible schedule that aligns with the needs of the healthcare facility.
