About The Position
The Monitor Tech provides support services at Sanford Medical Center Fargo. Some duties include basic computer keyboarding skills, tearing down and assembling patient charts as appropriate, calling other departments to inform them of ordered tests and procedures as needed, and stocking supplies. In addition, the monitor tech will be responsible for monitoring and interpreting patient heart rhythms and vital signs as well as following set algorithm parameters that may raise alarms. The ability to interpret alarms and follow through with appropriate communication as needed is essential. Depending on location, the monitor tech may also be providing continuous observation and surveillance of assigned patients, summoning the nursing staff if the patient requires assistance. The role involves following set algorithms, interpreting alarming events, and ensuring appropriate communication is maintained.
