About The Position

This position is for a professional nurse within the Federal service, specifically in locations such as Belcourt, ND and Pine Ridge, SD. The role requires a graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program. Applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination and possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse. The position may involve providing nursing care, triaging patients, and recognizing and intervening in acute life-threatening situations. The hiring manager may consider applicants who are currently enrolled in a nursing program and expected to complete their education within 9 months of applying.

Requirements

• A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program.
• Current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse.
• At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service.
• Experience in assessing and caring for the nursing needs of patients, particularly in the OB Department.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in triaging patients and managing cardiac and respiratory failure.
• Master's degree in professional nursing.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to patients, reviewing history of medical care, assessing current health conditions, and evaluating ability to self-care.
• Administer medication in accordance with the plan of care and assist providers with procedures.
• Develop plans of care to meet the needs of assigned patients.
• Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and react swiftly in emergency situations.
• Provide counseling, guidance, and health instruction to patients.
