About The Position

A friendly and reliable Telephone Operator is needed to work a rotating switchboard schedule at the Palmerton Telephone Company. Primary responsibilities include: Answering phones and properly routing calls Monitoring Alarms and Medical Alerts Providing answering Services for Doctors’ offices and others Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• H.S. Diploma or G.E.D.
• Established residency in Pennsylvania
• Valid PA Driver's License
• Computer Proficiency
• Excellent Communications Skills - Pleasant Speaking Voice
• Neat penmanship
• Dependability / Reliability
• Ability to multitask
• Ability to be detail oriented
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to handle phone calls in a calm and professional manner in all circumstances
• Ability to work a very flexible schedule in order to accommodate Swing Shift (1st, 2nd and 3rd Shift schedule rotation) to include weekends and holidays as required

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs preferred – Outlook, Word and Excel
• Familiarity with the local area helpful
