The Telephone Operator at Cardiology Associates of Greater Waterbury plays a crucial role in facilitating communication between patients and medical staff. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of office experience, preferably in a medical setting.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Courteously and efficiently answer all incoming calls, connecting callers to the correct extension.
  • Take and relay messages accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Respond promptly to emergency and urgent calls from patients, directing them to clinical staff as necessary.
  • Perform telephone operator functions such as triaging, connecting, transferring calls, and setting up conference calls.
  • Provide clear instructions on telephone procedures and report malfunctions to the appropriate parties.
  • Offer a pleasant and helpful phone experience for all callers.
  • Open and close the switchboard as scheduled.
  • Manage the in-house paging system.
  • Perform clerical duties as assigned to support departmental workflow.
