About The Position

Under supervision the Monitor Technician (MT) is responsible for cardiac and oximetry monitor surveillance for monitored and telemetry patients. Responsible for reporting rhythm changes and potentially lethal rhythms to a Registered Nurse following outlined workflow. Interacts directly with physicians regarding the interpretation of cardiac rhythm patterns or changes in patterns. Requirements

  • Coursework/Training Verification of completion of basic EKG cardiac rhythm recognition course required with-in six (6) months of hire
  • 6 months experience working in a healthcare or institutional setting

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework/Training Medical terminology course
  • Coursework/Training Verification of advanced cardiac rhythm recognition course
  • 6 months experience monitoring ECGs in an area that has the capability to monitor at least 16 patients
