Requirements

COVID-19 Vaccine or approved Declination
1-3 Years Experience as a Certified Telemetry Technician
BLS/CPR
PPD within one year
Active Telemetry Certification
Must be able to lift at least 50 miles or more without Restrictions
Must be able to stand and walk for long hours without Restrictions
Must be able to lift and bend without Restrictions
Pass a basic arrhythmia exam.
Telemetry positions will require additional Credentials

Responsibilities

Observes, recognizes, interprets, evaluates, and documents EKG tracings on telemetry-monitored patients to detect deviations from the patient's norm.
Promptly notifies appropriate personnel of dysrhythmias.
Operates and utilizes the monitoring system to full capacity.
Ensures proper and safe functioning of the telemetry equipment.
Completion of a monitor technician surveillance program/course is required.
Candidates who have not completed a monitor technician surveillance program must complete a certificate program within 90 days of hire.
Or 1 year of experience in monitor technician surveillance with in the last 5 years will be accepted in place of a monitor tech surveillance program or course.
The Sentara Basic Arrhythmia competency tool includes passing a basic arrhythmia exam.
